Appointed Forum Participant by the Northwest
Compact Committee in 1997
Since 1997, Michael Garner has served as Executive
Director of the Northwest Interstate Compact
on Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management, where
his duties include coordination, oversight,
and planning of ongoing compact activities.
Garner has also been a Policy Analyst in the
Nuclear Waste Program since 1990, with responsibility
for policy, administrative and regulatory issues
related to commercial low-level radioactive
waste management.
Prior to working for state government, Garner
was a research biologist, a quality control
manager, and an operations manager for an aquaculture
venture owned by Campbell Soup Company.
Garner received a bachelors degree in
fisheries from the University of Washington.
